Review: Sanctuary

Description:
It’s survival of the fittest, but first you have to fit in.
Shae is sure the icy rage that eats away at her is driving away her friends and pulling her closer to the wrong boy. But, as her protected world unravels, she discovers the violent supernatural world that lurks in her quiet hometown and the ancient feuds that threaten to destroy both her friends and her family. To save those she loves, Shae must succumb to her own fury, but at what cost?
Review:
Sanctuary by Melle Amade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Shane is a one of a kind main character. She was interesting and the story about her unfolded true to her pov. The introduction to the characters was developed yet there was still an air of mystery. Who's good and who's bad isn't clear until the author wants it to be. I've never read a shifter book like this and am looking forward to seeing what will happen to everyone in the next book! Five glittery stars!

The Luna's Destiny by Drea Shane now available

Whoop whoop!!!!
The Luna's Destiny by Drea Shane is available!
Here are the deets:
“A page-turner that will leave you breathless and wanting more . . .”
Being the Alpha’s daughter is no picnic. As one of the few remaining female shifters, my future duty is to become Luna of my own pack. I’m surrounded by overprotective males 24/7 that suck the fun out of life. It doesn’t help that I’m fluent in sarcasm as a second language. I don’t mean to be willful, but a girl and her wolf need to breathe.

Then there is the merging of my wolf and access to our full powers on my 18th birthday. As that change approaches, each day is proving more difficult than ever, as my feelings and moods amplify. Unfortunately for me, Dad’s called Assembly, and soon our territory will be swarming with potential Alpha mates. I’d hoped to make it through the final change before I had to deal with mating, but no such luck. Yay me.

As if that wasn’t enough, a chance encounter with a mysterious and alluring wolf has me questioning everything. Then there’s Joe, Dad’s enforcer and protégé. I can’t figure out why these feelings of desire are cropping up anytime I’m near the pain-in-the-ass shifter.
But all that pales in comparison when my dad drops a bombshell, a family secret that turns my world upside down. Nothing for me or the shifter race will ever be the same. It might just take the Moon Goddess herself to get me through this.

* This is the first book in a slow-burn, new adult reverse harem series. Not recommended for younger audiences due to language and sexual situations. *

Review: Midnight Hour

Synopsis:
Being a dyslexic witch is a curse in itself, but Miranda Kane’s time at Shadow Falls has helped her harness her magical powers. Now, just as she’s finally mastered them and is preparing to graduate with her friends, a near-death experience threatens to ruin it all.
Miranda awakens in the hospital with a mysterious tattoo that no one can explain. As she struggles to make sense of it—and questions her feelings for a certain irresistible shape-shifter and a hot new guy—the strange markings begin to spread all over her body, leaving her desperate to find answers. But before she can solve that problem, a new one arises: her sister is missing.
Has her sister been kidnapped? Miranda will risk her life to find out. Will she live to share the day she’s worked so hard for with her friends? When the clock strikes midnight, will Miranda make it to her graduation at Shadow Falls?

Review:
Midnight Hour by C.C. Hunter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
***Wipes tears with tissues***
Ugh! The series is over! I have been addicted to this series ever since I picked up the very first book: Born at Midnight. Once I started it, I binged on the whole series! To see the characters leave any future pages that could have come breaks my heart. Okay, so on to the review.
First, this book is Miranda's story. She's a dyslexic witch with issues. Her family is a hot mess. She has a choice to make between two very different guys. Magic has gone awry and she is the focus of it. Her friends are happy with their own boyfriends. She's experiencing new, very scary abilities.
1. Her mom is crazy jealous and angry with her dad. Even though she was the other woman, she hates the original wife. In her mom's eyes, Miranda is the real daughter and Tabitha is just the daughter that's in the way. Lots of screaming and family drama ensues.
2. I loved the relationship between Miranda and Tabitha. They are newly discovered sisters and are really bonding. Being sisters naturally comes with unconditional love, which these two are experiencing. Even though they are very different, it doesn't matter.
3. The magic. One wrong decision leads to a magical mishap of epic proportions. There are some unbelievable things that others have trouble believing. Nevertheless, the situation brings them into terrible danger as well as some magical problems that can't be explained. The gang tirelessly researches to find a solution.
4. As angry as Miranda is at her shape-shifting ex, Perry, she still can't shake her bond with him. He finally opens up to her about his feelings, hangups, and what he's really up to. Now she has to choose between him and her warlock boyfriend Shawn, who are compete opposites.
5. Perry's situation and Miranda's situation somehow become one in the same and all of Shadow Falls must work together to save them.
6. All of Perry's newly discovered famiial ties just complicate things more. Talk about one crazy twist after another! I would definitely have issues after dealing with his revelations.
7. I love that all Miranda's friends are there for her through the whole crazy book. The round table coke drinking didn't stop and Kylie, Della, Holliday, Burnett, Perry, Shawn, and even Tabitha were always there for her.
8. I was so sad when the story ended, but came away satisfied. The plot resolved itself in a way only C.C. Hunter could do.

This book gets ten glittery stars because it was a great end to a wonderful series.

Mini Review: Enchant

Enchant Enchant by Micalea Smeltzer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mara Pryce never imagined that her life was anything but normal and then a strange gray-eyed young man appears at her graduation. When he vanishes without a trace, she’s convinced he’s a figment of her imagination. Then he appears again and shatters her whole world.
Mara is an enchanter, part of an ancient line of Wiccan power, and a war is raging—one of good and evil—between the Enchanted and the Iniquitous.
The Iniquitous want her dead and it’s Theodore’s job as her protector to keep her safe.
When Mara and Theodore arrive at a safe house, where Mara will remain hidden while learning about her powers, they find that the real threat might be a little closer to home than they want to believe.

Review:
Funny but this book has actually been on my Goodreads tbr since 2012ish. I adore this author’s paranormal romance. Sooo happy this finally came to fruition! I’m looking forward to reading the next installment! And that ending...
Mara and Theo! What is going to happen next? Five glittery stars for this long awaited release!

Um. Um. Um.
Are you reading this?
If you are, I need your help.

I was at a party; I was running; I fell.
And get this—this is the part you'll never believe—I fell down a rabbit hole.
Like Alice in those old books.

Except in those books, there wasn't blood everywhere.
In those books, the characters weren't all male, attractive, and interested in me.
Forget everything you know about the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, the March Hare …

This isn't Wonderland; this is Underland.
Violence, sex, drugs, and magic … that's all there is in this place.
There's me, Allison, and there are the men that want me, the enemies that hunt me, and the darkness that's quickly rolling in.

And only I can stop it.
So if you're reading this, will you help me?
Please. I just want to escape this place and go … home.

Mini Review: Disruption and Corruption by Jessica Shirvington

Disruption by Jessica Shirvington
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Mercer Corporation might rule the world through the control of pheromones. But nothing, and no one, is going to stand in Maggie's way. Especially Quentin Mercer. Ever since the development of M-chips which tap into human pheromones, M-Corp has become the new superpower. Why trust your heart when all you have to do is get within a two-metre radius of someone to record a compatibility rating? Ratings range from the rare 'perfect match' to the dreaded 'negative' and everything in between. Three years ago Maggie's father mysteriously rated as a 'neg' and was taken away from them. For the last two years, eighteen-year-old Maggie has had only one goal: to uncover the truth and bring him home. But even though she's discovered the government's secret underground prison network and the fact that negs aren't going to rehab farms (not even close), she's still no closer to finding her father. Her last hope is Quentin Mercer, her classmate at the elite Kingly Academy - and the heir to the Mercer Corporation. By tricking Quentin into believing he's a 'neg', Maggie quickly gains access to all things M-Corp. But Quentin isn't the person she thought he was... And while she can easily betray her morals in the quest to save her father, can she betray her heart?
Review
I'm so surprised this book isn't more popular. I came across this duology by accident and am very glad I did! My favorite Jessica Shirvington story. Maggie is so strong and determined, yet grows so much during the books.
Quentin! Yup, a sure book boyfriend! There are some very interesting characters too. Lots of plot twists I didn't expect. Five glittery stars for book one!

The thrilling finale to bestselling author Jessica Shirvington's Disruption series.
How do you live with yourself when you've deceived the one you love?
How do you move on when the person you've been fighting to save betrays you?
Two years ago, Maggie Stevens began the hunt.
Four weeks ago, Maggie's world fell apart, when she finally found what she'd been looking for. And when Quentin, who had blindly trusted her, unravelled her web of lies.
Now, Maggie lives in the dark. But she's not about to stay there. Not when she still has to bring M-Corp down. Not when there is still a chance she could win him back.
In the exhilarating conclusion to Disruption, Maggie must do whatever it takes to show the world the truth. And the price for her quest?
Everything.
But for who?
Ages 14+
Review
Everything the two books deserve as an ending! The action and romance didn't let up until the very end! I love the cohesion between the characters. I'm really glad I found this duology and don't want to give any spoilers, so five glittery stars!

Keyword: Eventually. Unfortunately for me, Dad’s called Assembly and soon our territory will be swarming with potential Alpha mates. I’d hoped to make it through the final change on my eighteenth birthday before I had to deal with mating.

My birthday signals the blending of my human and wolf souls into one. I’ll finally have access to my full shifter powers. It will also be the night I bond to the mate I have yet to meet.

Review: The Vixen's Lead

The Vixen's LeadThe Vixen's Lead by Tate James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Description:
I want vengeance so badly that I can almost taste it. It's all I've ever wanted. So, I did what anyone in my unique position would do. I slapped on a secret identity and became an internationally renowned thief, known as The Fox. Nobody knows me. Nobody can catch me.

Or so I thought...

It turns out; I have what they want. Special abilities. And trust me, these abilities are coveted--and dangerous. Now, I don't know who to trust or where to go. Peril lurks on every corner as I try to uncover my past and origin. Teaming up with unlikely allies may be my only chance at survival or my biggest mistake. Only time will tell.

I'm Kit Davenport and this is only the beginning.

** Warning: This book is a Reverse Harem. It also contains violence, sex, bad-language and content which some readers may find triggering. **

Review:
Tate James is a new author in a genre that is exploding with popularity. Her voice shines through and is now a must read for any that love the RH genre. The Vixen’s Lead is the first in a series with a sassy heroine, awesome best friend, uncertain past, and smoking hot guys that will make you weak in the knees.
The plot is interesting and I liked the concept of how the surface of the story is dark, a little badass, but the heart of the story turns justified and comforting. And I must say that Kit’s bestie Lucy is an awesome secondary character. Love her!
The guys! Holy hot sauce! I love Wesley most, but River and Caleb are close behind. Wesley is smart and that makes him really sexy. River is just so bossy and dominant. Caleb is kind and caring and a great guy to melt into.
I’m already stoked to read the sequel and her other new co-written book. Five glittery stars for this debut novel!

Review: My Ex From Hell

Description:
Romeo and Juliet had it easy.
Prior to the Halloween dance, Sophie figures her worst problems involve adolescent theatrics, bitchy teen yoga girls, and being on probation at her boarding school for mouthy behaviour. Then she meets bad boy Kai and gets the kiss that rocks her world.
Literally.
This breath stealing lip lock reawakens Sophie’s true identity: Persephone, Goddess of Spring. She’s key to saving humanity in the war between the Underworld and Olympus, target numero uno of Hades and Zeus, and totally screwed. All she’s gotta do is master her powers, save the world...
...and stop kissing Kai, Prince of the Underworld.
My Ex From Hell is a YA romantic comedy, Greek mythology smackdown, perfect for everyone who loves sassy girls that kick butt and the bad boys who infuriate them.
Review:
My Ex From Hell by Tellulah Darling
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Sassy
This book was cute and sassy with a touch of flirty. The main character Sophie aka Persephone is a snarky drama queen with two fabulous best friends. Add high school angst and superpowers of mythical proportions, and you end up with this little gem of a read. Persephone in modern culture, not Ancient Greece. Looking forward to seeing what happens after that epic cliffhanger. Four glittery stars!

With professional killers stalking their every move, can Oliver and Kaia protect each other long enough to uncover the mysteries of her past?
Review:
Pretty Fierce by Kieran Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Some thoughts as I read:
"Holy heck this book started off with action and is just getting more interesting! I'm psyched about this book now more than when I got it."
"Still as good as it started. I can't seem to put it down!"
"Intense! So many twists! Oh and I have found my new book boyfriend!!!"
After I finished:
I loved every moment of this book. The plot took me on a wild ride and didn't slow down until the very last page. Kaia and Oliver had so many ups and downs but the love they shared was adorable. This was a fast paced young adult thriller where nothing is as it seemed and everything can change in the blink of an eye.
A must read teen suspense full of action, secrets, family, romance, loyalty and twists. Five glittery stars hands down! A top title for 2017!

Can the love she finds in Eden heal her heart and bring her life completely together?
Review:
Truth In Eden by Sarah Kay Carter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
So enjoyable!!! I'm a fan of this author and her other series. This book was great! I loved how richly imagined the other dimension was built. Everything was evenly placed, I enjoyed almost all the characters, well still not sure about Victor, but everyone else. The main character was a strong female protagonist, yet the author made her relatable. The romance was so sweet and I loved Sebastian. I highly recommend this author and this book! Five glittery stars!
